Why "Just Relax" Is the Worst Advice for Chronic Pain
Pain is not simply a signal of tissue damage,it is a prediction made by your nervous system. Understanding this changes everything about how we approach healing.

"My passion is teaching people how to feel at home in their body."
The body is not a collection of parts that can be treated independently. It is a living web of connected systems, muscles, fascia, joints, nerves, and the brain, all communicating with each other constantly.
When something hurts or feels "off," it is rarely just the tissue at the site of pain. More often, the body is speaking through that pain, asking for something: more stability, more mobility, more safety, more awareness.
True healing asks us to listen. My work is rooted in helping you understand what your body is communicating, so you can work with it rather than against it.
Structure, movement, and sensation are inseparable. Addressing a knee means understanding the foot below and the hip above, and everything in between.
The nervous system governs all movement and sensation. When it perceives threat, it protects, sometimes in ways that become pain. Regulation is not secondary to rehab; it is rehab.
You are the authority on your own experience. My role is to offer tools, language, and insight,so you leave each session with more capacity and less dependency.
I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy and Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist with eight years of clinical experience. I specialize in the intersection of movement, the spine, and whole-person care, working with patients who want to understand their bodies, not just manage their symptoms.
My clinical home is ScolioAustin in Austin, TX, where I work primarily with people affected by scoliosis and complex spinal presentations. I use evidence-based approaches including Schroth and SEAS methodology alongside dry needling, manual therapy, and nervous system-informed care.
Beyond the clinic, I'm passionate about translating the science of movement into language that is accessible, practical, and genuinely useful for everyday life. Whether you're recovering from injury, managing a chronic condition, or simply wanting to move and feel better,I believe deep understanding is the foundation of lasting change.
